Changes to fields

  • Address fields for organizations are separate when registering and/or editing profile (i.e. street, city, state, zip)
  • Phone format specified in all forms
  • Added a field to the opportunity posting form specifying whether the opportunity is youth friendly
  • Added a field to the opportunity form specifying whether individuals required to complete community service are eligible to register
  • When editing an organization profile, changed the “Continue” button to “Save”
  • Organization type is now a drop-down rather than free-format field
  • Removed "Number of volunteers field" from the organization edit page
  • Changed search field from “Date” to “Date Added” on the opportunities page
  • Improved error hint on URL fields

Bugs fixed

  • Apostrophes and commas are now showing up correctly (previously were showing up as symbols or with additional characters)
  • Eliminated bug that returned an error when dates were omitted for ongoing opportunities
  • Eliminated bug that user was not directed back to the same page after logging into his/her account
  • End dates are now validated
  • Layout fixes for maintainers list of organizations
  • Added code to protect against creating duplicate opportunities
  • When a volunteer clicks on “View this organization’s x opportunity/ies”, he/she is now directed to the specific opportunity rather than to the general list of opportunities

Enhancements to functionality

  • Organizations entering opportunities now see a progress bar during the submission process
  • Organizations can now edit opportunities after posting them
  • Organization maintainers receive and e-mail when a volunteer registers for an opportunity through CUVolunteer.org
  • Organizations can now set a minimum and/or maximum number of volunteers
  • Registration will now shut off once the maximum number of volunteers is reached
  • Moved “Search” buttons for organization and opportunity searches to make them easier to find
  • Changed default number of entries displaying from 5 to 10
  • When e-mailing an opportunity to someone else, the full text now appears (previously, only a portion of the text appeared)
  • Line breaks in profiles and index pages are now recognized
  • Interests can now be updated
  • Organizations and Opportunities can now be tweeted
  • The organization list is now alphabetized
